OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD '24

We are excited to be rolling out our 2nd Annual OCC collection. This past Christmas, we collected 324 completed boxes! Our goal is to plan ahead by collecting items each month. We hope to bless as many kids as we can to further the Gospel of Jesus. We will also collect boxes in the traditional way of packing and dropping off boxes in November.

The 2024 collection items by month:

January - Toys and stuffed animals

February - Coloring books and notebooks

March - Bar soap and wash cloths

April - Flip flops and socks

May - Soccer balls and hand pumps

June - Hairbrushes and Combs

July - Toothbrushes and toothbrush holders/covers

August - Colored pencils, pens, crayons, and pencils

September - Plain T-shirts (no logos)

October - Hats and gloves

There is a collection box in the church foyer for your donations.

We are also going to purchase shoebox size clear reusable bins with lids - which will help with transportation of water and other supplies after they have received their gospel box.  If you would like to participate in this way, you can make your donation by marking your check in the memo for OCC and dropping it off in the church offering box.

BACKPACK FOOD PROGRAM

We are continuing to partner with both elementary and intermediate schools in Bellefontaine to provide extra food for children who are dealing with food scarcity on the weekends. Each week, the guidance counselor gives these students a small bag of food for the weekend.

Thank you to all who have donated or packed bags!  Your support has been amazing! We are currently helping around 90 families between the elementary and intermediate schools.

We have a couple of opportunities to help finish out the '23-'24 school year:

1. Donate. If you are interested in giving, you can give directly to VCF and write Backpack Program in the memo.

2. Bring in your extra grocery sacks!  We use plastic grocery sacks for the food each week, and are always in need of them.  Look for the box in the lobby!
